When the final bell rings, Zed’s the first zombie out the doors.

Sometimes Addison accidentally falls asleep so Zed is left alone with his own thoughts for a little while until she wakes up again, but mostly it’s been a constant stream of banter from one cellphone to the other. Zed’s father refuses to let Zed skip school to take care of Addison the next time she gets sick so the couple spend the day texting each other instead. She’s okay with having a little cold if it means being stuck with this ragtag group of zombies. Addison glances over Bonzo’s shoulder and sees Zed smiling and she smiles too. “Za,” Bonzo agrees as he moves forward and pushes Zed aside so he can give Addison her own hug. “Well I couldn’t leave my girl sick and alone now could I?” He says as her arms wrap around his back, “Honestly they’re only tagging along because I told them how last time you were sick we just watched movies all day and they want in on the action,” he whispers jokingly but not and Addison feels like crying because she thinks this is the nicest thing anyone has ever done for her and these are the best friends she could ever have.Įliza hears what Zed says and rolls her eyes, “We’re here because what better way to spend a Saturday than with your friends watching movies?” She clarifies. “What are you guys doing here?” She says as she pulls open the door and Zed’s moving forwards and bringing her into a loving hug before she can say anything more. The two know what Zed’s thinking without him even having to say it.īy the time the three reach Addison’s house, she’s telling Zed about how sneezing is worse than coughing because you just get germs everywhere and he cuts her off as nicely as possible to tell her to come to the door. Zed keeps Addison occupied on the phone as he gathers Bonzo and Eliza and the three of them start to head to Addison’s house. They couldn’t get out of it, apparently.” They had to go to some meeting in the middle of the city. I’m winning.” He supplies with another laugh before leaning down and snatching his jacket from the ground. “Are your parents home?”Īddison sighs, “No. “Bonzo and I are playing soccer in the plant. Zed chuckles at Bonzo’s shouted curse in zombie-tongue as he goes to grab the ball and Addison hears that too and gasps in shock. “Was that Bonzo-?” The ball smacks into the concrete wall behind him with a loud bang. “What was that?” Addison asks worriedly. She sniffles as Zed kicks the soccer ball towards Bonzo, who fails to block.

“No,” his girlfriend replies, sounding nothing less than horrible. He pulls it out and puts it to his ear, not bothering to look at the Caller ID because who else would be calling him at ten in the morning on a Saturday? He’s messing around with Bonzo in the abandoned nuclear plant when his phone vibrates from his pocket. There’s no way a cold’s going to keep him from his girlfriend. Even the heated kisses she doesn’t ask for because she’s worried but he initiates anyway because he’s got nothing to lose.

They spend the day snuggled under blankets, watching chick-flicks and he caters to her every whim. Zed isn’t wrong, but he doesn’t break his promise either. Zed hums as he presses a gentle kiss to the top of her head. “I’ll take care of you,” he promises and when his girlfriend pokes him in the stomach he quickly backtracks, “if it even happens. “No,” she mumbles dejectedly as Zed pulls her closer, “don’t say that. “I think you’re catching another cold,” he says one Sunday evening while they’re sitting on the couch watching a re-run of Bride Wars in her living room and Addison groans, turning and hiding her face in his shoulder. And it might be his zombie-senses or just the fact that he pays more attention to her than she knows, but sometimes he can predict when she’s feeling under the weather before she actually is. Zed figures it out fast - how much Addison gets sick. She’s only able to keep up with Bucky’s vigorous cheerleading routines and stay on the team because she’s been practicing with him almost her entire life so when she comes back to school after being out for a while she still blows all of the other sophomore girls out of the water. She gets sick a lot more than she lets on-and lately she’s been toying with the thought that maybe it’s a side effect from the same genetic defect that caused her white hair?-and it sucks. (This turned out way long, or maybe that’s just me, and I don’t like how everything turned out but here we go.)įive Times Addison’s Sick and Zed Comes to her Rescue …

Aw thank you! That means a lot to hear! :)
